Fellaini under FA investigation for allegedly spitting at Zabaleta

Manchester United's dismal season took another turn for the worst when it emerged that Marouane Fellaini could be facing a ban for allegedly spitting at an opponent.
The Belgian midfielder appeared to spit towards a grounded Pablo Zabaleta moments after being booked for elbowing him in the face during United's 3-0 loss to Manchester City on Tuesday evening, and the FA is now investigating the incident.
The former Everton man claims Zabaleta had "bounced against his elbow", and was "unlucky" to make contact.
Fellaini is seen making what appears to be fairly despicable gesture in the direction of the Argentina international Zabaleta after referee Michael Oliver had produced his book.
Most onlookers came to the conclusion that Fellaini was fortunate to avoid a red card, but the Football Association could take retrospective action against the player using video evidence. The FA have confirmed that they are studying the incident and have requested higher-quality footage from the match broadcasters.
David Moyes signed Fellaini for £27.5 million from his old club Everton last August, but he has failed to score a goal for United or hold down a regular game for the struggling English champions.
Earlier this month, Hull City midfielder George Boyd was handed a three-match ban for spitting at City goalkeeper Joe Hart during a Premier League game at the KC Stadium. The incident was not seen by match officials but caught on video.
