FIFA Moves to Ban Third-Party Ownership of Footballers World football governing body FIFA has taken the decision of general principle that third-party ownership of players’ economic rights (TPO) shall be banned with a transitional period. The decision comes at the end of a two-day meeting of the FIFA executive committee and has been handed back to the TPO for the relevant technical regulations to be drafted. Boko Haram Members Fight For Leadership, 30 Killed Barely a week after report surfaced that the leader of Boko Haram, Abubakar Shekau had been killed during a fierce gun battle in Konduga, Borno state, succession crisis has allegedly hit the camp of the insurgents. According to a report by Daily Sun, thirty insurgents lost their lives yesterday, September 25 in Madagali, Adamawa state as they battled over who should succeed Shekau. BREAKING: Judge acquits Lagos Speaker, Ikuforiji, of N600million money laundering charges Justice Ibrahim Buba of the Federal High Court, Lagos, has discharged and acquitted Adeyemi Ikuforiji, the Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, from money laundering charges. The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, had accused Mr. Ikuforiji and Oyebode Atoyebi, his aide, of laundering about N600 million. In his ruling, the judge described the trial as “anachronistic” and should not have been allowed to continue. This proceeding should have been treated as an aborted trial and the charges should have been withdrawn,” he added. 52 Boko Haram Members Arrested in Borno State   Between yesterday and today, Nigerian security operatives reportedly arrested 52 Boko Haram insurgents in Biu, Borno State. The terrorists are said to have gotten into Biu riding in a truck. Sahara Reporters revealed that the truck driver reported to security check point operatives, telling them the some passengers had threatened to kill him if he didn’t take them into town. Authorities were able to arrest the passengers, who turned out to be Boko Haram members. A civilian vigilante volunteer group  is said to have also aided in the arrests, as they found 46 of the terrorists hiding in a section of the truck reserved for cows. Security sources confirmed the arrests, stating that the insurgents have been cooperating and providing useful information.

PHOTOS: Borno Authorities To Spend N100m On Chibok Girls’ Education Borno State authorities said September 24 that they set aside N100 million annually for education of the escaped Chibok girls. While more than 200 female students abducted in April by Boko Haram insurgents are still missing, 57 children managed to escape and will be supported by Borno government. According to NAN, governor Kashim Shettima made this known in the capital Maiduguri as he received members of the state chapter of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN). “The state government is spending N1.4 million on each of the girls per annum to ensure that they have access to good and sound education… We are actually sending them to schools around Zaria, Kaduna and Jos, so that they can have conducive learning environment.” The governor said that the distributed amount would cover all the expenditures charged by the schools. The member said that it was to kill a motion to probe the $9.3 million seized by the South African authorities from three Nigerians and an Isreali. A blood moon occurs when the earth comes between the sun and the moon. As the sun is shining through the atmosphere of the earth and casts up on the moon a red shadow making the moon to appear completely red. For the blood moons to occur in series as it will between 2014 and 2015 is very rare indeed. Each time it has occurred in that way in Israel’s feast days, events have happened that had tremendous impact on world history.
