The suspected APC armed thugs were chased by the Special Forces from Elele were they were tormenting PDP elders who were in a meeting ahead of Saturday’s governorship election. They shot sporadically into the air, scaring residents away.

The security forces went further to search the home of Tony Okocha and his hotel. Information reaching Scan News also indicate that the security forces searched the home of the State Commissioner for Agriculture, Mr Emma Chinda located at Location Road in Orazi suburb of the town.
Efforts to get the response of Chief Press Secretary to Governor Rotimi Amaechi, Mr David Iyofor proved abortive.
Security sources maintain that the search of the homes of the prominent APC leaders was due to security reports received on their relationship with armed thugs and militants.
On the heels of the state governorship election, several wealthy politicians are believed to have imported armed militants from neighbouring states.
