The actress who made the assertion while speaking on CNN described the abduction as an 'inhuman act,' adding that everyone is involved in this issue and that is why they have taken up the responsibility as celebrities to more shed light on the situation and bring to the forefront.
While responding to the question of the host, Max Foster on whether the federal government had been slow to react to the Chibok kidnapping, Genevieve said it will be unfair to accuse them of being slow to react because no one knew whether or not they reacted.
According to her the major problem was lack of communication between the government and the people and that's been sorted out as efforts being made by the government to rescue the abducted girls can now be seen.
"We just wanted them to, at least, react to us. And make it aware to our knowledge that they know what was going on, we knew there was a problem at hand, its just that lack of communication," she said.

On whether she welcomes foreign support, Genevieve replied, "This has been going on way too long and there's no shame asking for help and in taking it. The truth is, terrorism is not only our problem, it's not a continent problem, it's a global issue and we all have to come together to fight it. This is a breach of human rights, it’s something that should concern each and everyone. So, it’s welcome."
This is not the first time Genevieve is speaking on the issue of the abducted girls. She had earlier taken to her Facebook page to say enough of the setbacks in the country.
