Fidelity Bank MD In Adultery Scandal!
Fidelity Bank MD In Adultery Scandal!
The currently serving director of Fidelity Bank Plc, Reginald Ihejiahi, was one dude who brought his gentlemanly mien to bear while he held sway as Managing Bank of the bank. Unlike his other culpable colleagues, his stewardship was given a clean bill of health by the then Sanusi Lamido-led Central Bank of Nigeria. But it is not all unblemished as it has been found out that he committed certain acts bordering on ethical and moral questions based on his amorous involvement with a certain director of the now defunct Afribank, named Joke Giwa.
In a report that has just surfaced online, Ihejiahi is alleged to have played an ignominious role in the present comatose state of one-time rave public relation agency, Absolute PR, as a result of an affair he had with Joke. According to the report which is reproduced below, Ihejiahi, Joke Giwa, who was a partner with
Akote Onimitemiari Ekine and on Ronke Fasalojo were dramatis personae in the ensued that brought Absolute PR to its present sorry state.
Akonte was the MD of FCB-Redline, an affiliate PR company of Centrespread owned by corporate guru, Kola Ayanwale, while Joke was a top director at Afribank which was one of the accounts Centrespread was managing. Joke and Akonte were close friends before they ‘graduated’ to lovers. Joke at the time, perfected the award of the Afribank’s Moneygram account to Centrespread and brought Akonte into the picture to protect her interests. In no time, Akonte proposed the idea of owing a PR agency in partnership with Joke, who bought the idea hook, line and sinker. Absolute PR was floated in 2009.
Joke ensured that the Afribank Moneygram account was removed from Centrespread and awarded to Absolute PR through Joke’s influence. Highly connected in the country’s economic sectors, she influenced juicy accounts for Absolute PR; in no time, the new company became a leading firm.
Everything was reportedly smooth-sailing with Absolute PR on one side, and the affair between the partners, Joke and Akonte, on the other until words got to Joke that Akonte was giving emotional attention to one of his staff members, Ronke Fasalojo, in office affair which was conspicuous to everyone at Absolute.
Joke confronted her lover with proof of his dalliance Ronke Fasalojo, an allegation to which Akonte readily admitted, citing Joke’s affair with Fidelity Bank’s former MD, Reginald, as his excuse. A livid Joke, who also did not debunk Akonte’s allegation, pulled out all her resources from Absolute PR, an act which signalled the beginning of unhealthy seasons for the firm.
Depressed, desperate and deeply hurt, Akonte and his Absolute PR, which had only Unileve account as the only viable account, made attempts to reconcile with Joke, who was unflinching in her decision to finally part ways with Akonte.
Akonte was reduced to survival battle and went on a drive to do everything to stay afloat. He was said to have turned to Fidelity Bank for a loan, a gesture that was turned down by the bank.
Ready to blackmail the bank’s then MD, he played an arm-twisting game and took to social media with evidence of Reginald’s affair with Joke. Fidelity Bank quickly retreated on the order of Reginald, and approved a 15 million naira loan Akonte without an option of repayment. The bank tagged the offer ‘a gift from the MD.’
Akonte has since made efforts to bring Absolute PR back to reckoning but to no avail, as the agency has continued to struggle. A visit to the website of the agency shows ‘coming soon....TheCapital
